COVID-19 and the Kidney

In their review article published on 4 August 2020 in the Journal of Clinical Medicine, Gagliardi et al. summarize the epidemiology, etiology and pathophysiology of kidney damage in people infected with COVID-19 . Of note, 20 percent of the deceased COVID-19 patients with pre-existing conditions were affected by chronic kidney disease.
